2020 Nissan Rogue vs 2020 Hyundai Tucson
February 21 2020,
The Nissan Rogue is a five-passenger SUV that is popular in Canada due to its passenger and cargo volume, efficiency, safety and more. The 2020 model line includes four well-equipped models that are winning over more owners. The Rogue also continues to measure up to the competition, including the 2020 Hyundai Tucson. Following is a comparison to help you make the right purchasing decision.
The Rogue’s recent recognition as an IIHS Top Safety Pick sets it apart from the Hyundai Tucson. Technologies such as 360-degree view, driver restriction features and more contribute in ways that aren’t possible with the Tucson. This provides your family with a peace of mind.
You will have better power and performance in the 2020 Nissan Rogue
The Nissan Rogue includes one 2.5L four-cylinder engine option that generates 170 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. The Hyundai Tucson includes a 2.0L four-cylinder that produces a lower 161 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard on three out of five trims. There is a 2.4L variant available on the highest trim levels that produces 181 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. This is only marginally more powerful than the Rogue’s engine, but also less efficient.
An Xtronic continuously variable transmission adds acceleration and efficient operation to the Rogue’s drivetrain. This results in a fuel consumption rating of 9.1 L/100 Km in the city and 7.1 L/100 km on the highway in the FWD Rogue models, and it wins the fuel competition between both vehicles. AWD Rogue trims also result in greater fuel efficiency. The Tucson’s six-speed automatic transmission is less efficient and lacks the flexibility of a CVT.
The 2020 Nissan Rogue raises the volume
The Rogue’s larger dimensions provide a roomier vehicle for trips of any length. The Rogue is 4,630 mm long, with the Tucson falling short at 4,481 mm. The Rogue also asserts itself with a significantly larger amount of available cargo volume and more compared to the Tucson.
When you need maximum room behind the front seats, the Rogue provides 1,982 litres versus 1,753 in the Tucson. That’s 229 more in the Rogue! Behind the second row, the Rogue’s 1,112 litres of volume shadows the 878 available in the Tucson.
