2021 Nissan Rogue vs 2021 Hyundai Tucson: Which One Will Perform for You ?

The all-new Rogue was just unveiled and it features an all-new, striking exterior design, more performance under the hood and new and enhanced technologies that aim at keeping it a go-to choice in the segment. The compact SUV segment is filled with vehicles, so comparing the new Rogue to rivals is a natural thing to do to help you make a wise decision. Here, we compare it to the Hyundai Tucson.

The 2021 Nissan Rogue is a better performer

Performance is important in the compact SUV segment. The Rogue is powered by a reliable, tried-and-true four cylinder 2.5 L engine that outputs 181 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque. I features the Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS) and is mated to a continuously variable transmission. This engine is standard throughout the Rogue lineup.

The Hyundai Tucson offers a choice of two engines. The first one is a four cylinder2.0 L that outputs 160 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque, and the second one, available on premium trims, is a 2.4 L that outputs 181 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. Altough the most powerful option is equal to the Rogues engine in terms of horsepower, it fall short in the torque department.

Moreover, the Tucson uses a traditional 6-speed automatic transmission, which is outdated equipment compared to the Rogue’s CVT.

The Rogue takes the win in the performance duel.

The Nissan Rogue is way ahead in terms of technology

Technology is one of the key pillars of the Rogue nameplate. And the 2021 model is full of interesting features. For instance, the Rogue was on the front lines of the new ProPiLOT Assist system. This hands-on technology makes driving in traffic or the open highway easier. Using a combination of steering assist and Intelligent Cruise Control, it adjusts acceleration and braking in varying amounts of traffic. It also steers the Rogue and keeps it well centered in its lane on the highway. The Tucson doesn’t offer anything remotely as advanced as this technology.

Also, the available 12.3-inch instrument cluster in the Rogue is customizable and allows you to add maps, menus, and more. The full-colour output is crystal clear and help the driver read the information more rapidly. The Tucson still relies on a traditional instrument cluster.
